I hope it gets back to that. When we were growing up, guys my age practiced the outside shot or mid-range jump shot. These kids are practicing how high they can get up on the rim.

It's just a process and they still have to learn. There's no way to hurry it up.

Shaud had a really good game and I think the defense was the main thing. I don't think it was our offensive prowess. Our kids knew they had to come out hard. I told them it was like a summer camp game where you have to be up early and ready to go. They did a good job preparing.

Most schools now have rims the breakaway on the side also. It takes less pressure off of the hand (when someone dunks).

We practice against the zone every day. I thought we had enough open shots against it to win, but they didn't go down.

We've made a name for ourselves by playing tough defense, and I thought we did that again tonight. We just couldn't hit the shots.

That's a good basketball team. We knew we would have to play very well to beat those guys. Unfortunately, we came up short.

The new breakaway rims are expensive. But we think they are worth it to prevent the athletes from hurting themselves.
