Even though it has slowed things down a little, we wanted to make sure we got it right. We didn't want the chance of having to change the structure once building started.
The majority of extra time was taken in the planning stages, figuring out what to do and how to do it.
We were very concerned about the culvert. But once we were presented with the various options, we felt like we had done our due diligence.
We had to remove a little more of the end section than we had planned because we ran into some loose brick.
It's been a real blessing because it's nice not have to deal with it. But when there's snow it's also hard to do (street) maintenance.
Leaving that side in there would have been unsafe.
