Any night your goalie puts a good egg up on the scoreboard, you've got think you're going to have a pretty good chance. He made some big saves in the first period that gave us a chance.

The job is always open in the net, but if you have to put a number on it. Bryce is our No. 1 guy. I thought he did a good job tonight.

And he's really still not there yet. He's just going to get better and better every time he steps on the ice.

He really understands the game and has a great touch around the net.

Wheeler got something done on every shift.

I think we got into using our speed in the second and third periods and that really worked well at times.

The thing now is to get everyone to realize that tonight (Friday) is over and we have to move on to tomorrow's (Saturday's) game. We have to come out and be better on Saturday than we were tonight.

I think we say tonight how important it is to play your first game of the season in front of your home fans. The guys who had the chances finished well tonight and we got timely goaltending when we needed it the most.

We were able to play all four lines tonight and they all had their ups and downs. Overall, it was a pretty good way to start the season.
