Over the last week or so I have been very disappointed and very dismayed that one of the candidates has started a whisper campaign against Judge [Ron[ Harris and myself, questioning our Christian beliefs. Those of you know me and how we raise our family and that we have very close Christian ties; we have not campaigned on it and I will not campaign on it.

We all know the issues. We all know the candidates in this race. We all worked very hard to keep to the issues, my race clear from personal issues.

As county chair, I saw a deterioration in the last three years in his performance and relationships.

I was hopeful that they were going to take a stand and vote to make it official that they intend to eliminate (longevity pay) during the next budget cycle. Voting in favor of eliminating it today would have sent a strong message to the voters and they chose not to do it. I was glad that Joe Jaynes did take a stand and make a motion, but I was disappointed that there was no second.

I'm proud of the race I ran. I expect that the issues that issues that were important to me and to a lot of Republicans will still be discussed. I'm glad we were able to air issues that have not been talked about public ally. I'll be working on my career now and waiting for new political adventures.

County taxes should be cut. Collin County pays some of the highest gas taxes ...and we are 15th in the bottom for expenditures.
