No one has called me from any place, and that's the absolute truth.

I say what I'm about to say with all due respect. We are not going to be anybody's second fiddle. We're not going to be anybody's poor little brother. . . . I hope tomorrow we can hire the next one that everyone wants in five years.

I don't see why you would use someone else. I have never heard of something like this until right now. Nothing surprises me, but I can't see using a service to do something you can do just as easily.

There are a lot of exciting pieces to this game. I think it will be great fun.

I don't think with all these people, it's all about the money. I think it's about having a chance to be successful, at a good family place, being paid what's fair and comfortable. And if that's not enough, that's not enough. No hard feelings. I understand.

To be honest, Iowa State got a great coach - and they got a great friend of mine.

When you sit in this chair at this place, you know if you've got great coaches that somebody is going to come in and steal them. It wasn't a shock when I got a call asking permission (to talk to McDermott). It wasn't really a shock when he'd been offered the job. And it wasn't a shock when he took it.

We're going to forge ahead with every intention of keeping Mac as our coach.

I am so happy that we were able to secure this private support and am hopeful that Mac, his staff and family will be with us for years to come.
