Richard Seymour
FameRank: 6

"Richard Vershaun Seymour" is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs football/University of Georgia, and was drafted by the New England Patriots sixth overall in the 2001 NFL Draft.

Seymour has played in seven Pro Bowls, has been named to three All-Pro teams, and has been a member of three Super Bowl-winning Patriots teams. Some have considered Seymour to be the best defensive lineman in the NFL. He has also been described as the best #6 overall draft pick of all time.

Seymour has gone to the Pro Bowl both as a 4-3 defensive tackle and as a 3-4 defensive end. He has also occasionally played Fullback (American football)/fullback on short yardage and goal line situations. However, Seymour has not seen work as a fullback since suffering a knee injury on a one-yard Corey Dillon touchdown run against the San Diego Chargers in October 2005.

We?re not going to hold our heads down because it?s a long season. We still have a lot of work to do. We took one on the chin and we accept that. There?s a lot of room for improvement with everybody on the team. It has to start this week.

They're a football team that's kind of run oriented. If they can punish you with the run, then that's what they're going to continue to do all day. I don't know if they'll throw it if they don't have to.

It's good for the defensive line.

Anytime we go up against an offense that likes to run the football like they do, it?s up to the defense to do the job. We just tried to mix it up with the 3-4 and 4-3. Give credit to the whole defense.

We took one on the chin. We accept that.

It's good for the defensive line. If the team is always in a certain position, they know where you're going to be. It gives us an advantage when we can move around and get into different spots.

No. He didn't get in.

The Slaying of Jean Charles de Menezes.

We have the talent with Ty Warren , Jarvis Green, Big Wilfork and it's just a matter of going out and doing the job every day. It puts more beef on the field and we can move in and out with our versatility. We all feel like we're every down players and want to be on the field, but we don't care if its 3-4 or 4-3 as long as we're winning football games.
