[I've been pitching in pain for] close to a month and it was getting worse, ... It affected my velocity. I was trying to pitch through it. I took the medication and it didn't help. I got to the point where I wasn't helping myself or the team. If I can't go out and pitch normally, there's no point in me being out there.

He basically makes you feel it's not the end of the world, and we're all in this together.

I felt really strong and that can be good or bad. It felt good to be back out there. You don't want to sit too long. I think my shoulder rested a while. I'm glad to have gotten through it.

It's the Canada/U.S. thing. In international play, the U.S. is always favored in a sport. It seems that every time Canada plays the U.S., it's always a huge rivalry. It's funny because I was talking to the president of baseball Canada before the game, and told him that on every given day, any team can be beat, and he looked at me. He said he was crying at the end of the game. Stuff happens.

We shocked the world. A bunch of hockey players beat the United States. Baseball Canada is in ecstasy.

I tried to throw (Franco) some good pitches, but he didn't budge.

People thought we were rock stars, ... We might wear them out tonight, maybe we'll make an appearance at a rock concert.

That was a huge day for Canada. Everybody in the clubhouse was jumping around. They kept playing that ball Utley hit.

I'm glad he had it. We would have loved for him to keep it going.
