When I got to high school, the best thing I knew how to do was art. I never really took a class. It was the oddest thing. It wasn't until I was in ninth-grade when I did a paper collage and my teacher put it in an art contest downtown.

I was the middle child. I was always the oddball. There are a bunch of pictures of me showing off portraits that I did.

I would draw something and family and teachers would tell me it was really good. I always had a lot of praise and encouragement for my work.
