If the market is now thinking we've got another one or two here right in front of us that we didn't count on, that would account for the sell-off we're seeing in the equity market.

We had two excellent pieces of information on the economy. The Fed is now confirming that the economy is slowing nicely.

You've got a couple of high-profile misses here that help fuel the sell-off for the rest of the market. You've got energy strong and negative earnings news. That doesn't have positive implications for economic activity.

The market fundamentals are improving. The economy is slowing and the Fed is close to a bottom (on rate hikes). Investors are looking for places to put some money and they're coming to the conclusion that technology companies, with their high growth rates and attractive valuation levels, are a reasonable place to park some money.

I think the fundamentals show that we're going to work higher over the next two or three months. It was reasonable to expect that we'd get some profit taking.

Giving people time to recoup would be beneficial to the market.

I'm actually surprised the Dow is doing what it's doing, given the strength of the IBM and GE reports.

This is a fluid situation that changes minute by minute.
