Louie's value is the fact he can help a pitching staff.

We talked in September about some things he needed to work on, and to his credit he went home this winter and worked on them because I see a big difference from what I saw in September to now.

I know what Andino needs to work on and what he needs to do. I've just got to slow him down. He gets a little geared up at times.

Pokey is a professional. He's been around. He's a proven player. You won't find a nicer guy. He's good for these young players. He can nurture them along.

I don't think he will have any problems readjusting back. The main thing is he wants to make the move, and often that's half the battle.

I'm just going to watch him the first few days. I've never seen him play. I'll make a suggestion here and there.

Having arm strength is definitely an advantage.

He's going to call me after the surgery or have his wife call me. He's going to be here Sunday for sure so he can say his goodbyes, but he's coming back Saturday.

I think the Gold Glove is more than just stats. I look at how defense affects the pitching staff.
