We feel strongly they do have the authority and responsibility to review textbooks. Textbooks are purchased with money out of the state's Permanent School Fund, and the state board has a constitutional responsibility to oversee how those funds are spent.

Using tax dollars to lobby for more tax dollars constitutes a vicious cycle, and it is fiscally, morally and ethically wrong.

Taxes are usually permanent, but tax cuts aren't.

If you want to feed off the public trough, if you want to take public dollars, take them, but don't lobby.
