Skyline is a big, physical team. But we had some big plays. For being a young, inexperienced group, we did a good job against a good team.

We're untested, inexperienced and the faster we grow up, the better.

I know they have a great running back in Cameron Island. And they always have a lot of athletes at the skill positions. This is a great test for us early in the year.

We're getting battle-tested. This is probably not going to be the last fourth-quarter game we ever play.

After all that's happened, the team is eager to get on the field and move forward. It's going to be interesting to see how we play and where we go from here.

After all we went through this summer, all we wanted was the'05 season to get started. I had tears in my eyes when I walked on to the field tonight thinking about all we went through. We could have lost by 700 points, but at least the'05 season had started.

If my heart was at 100 percent before that game, then it was 98 percent afterward. That 2 percent, I'll never get back.

So in a way, I'm happy for them. I think their community needed it.
