"Patricia Albjerg Graham" is a historian of American education. She began her teaching career in Deep Creek, Virginia, and went on to become a lecturer at Indiana University, professor of history and education at TC, Columbia University, dean of the Radcliffe Institute and of Harvard Graduate School of Education. She was President of the Spencer Foundation from 1991 to 2000.

Our goal is that they will go right back into the schools where they have been teaching. They likely have an investment in that community, and there will be opportunities for them right there.

We are aware of the poverty, teacher turnover and lack of resources in that area. That will be embedded in the program.

We think this is the kind of thing public schools have a responsibility to provide.
