"Patrick "Pat" Doherty" is an Irish people/Irish politician and abstentionist Member of Parliament for West Tyrone (UK Parliament constituency)/West Tyrone. He was a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly for the same constituency from June 1998 to June 2012. Doherty served as Sinn Féin/Vice President of Sinn Féin from 1988 to 2009, when Mary Lou McDonald became the party's new Vice-President.

While Ian Paisley refuses to share power with nationalists and republicans on the basis of equality and respect Direct Rule Ministers (from Westminster) continue to take bad decisions which impact adversely on people right across this community.
