"Randolph Denard Ornette Coleman" is an United States/American saxophone/saxophonist, violinist, trumpeter and composer. He was one of the major innovators of the free jazz movement of the 1960s, having also invented the term "free jazz" by naming his Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation/album so. Coleman's timbre is easily recognized: his keening, crying sound draws heavily on blues music. His album Sound Grammar received the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for music.

I'm interested in music, not in my image. If someone plays something fantastic, that I could never have thought of, it makes me happy to know it exists.

I decided, if I'm going to be poor and black and all, the least thing I'm going to do is to try and find out who I am. I created everything about me.

It was when I found out I could make mistakes that I knew I was on to something.

I would like to play for audiences who are not using my music to stimulate their sex organs.
