So many artists do so much throughout the year to help others and none of us do it for the recognition. But, it is nice to get a pat on the back and I really appreciate it.

I still see him a lot, and he still is a very dear friend and obviously responsible for me getting into country music, ... This is my first opportunity to thank him for all that he's done, and I didn't think there was any other way to do it but a duet. I just called him up and asked him, and he said I'd love to. He's singing better than ever.

August is a big month for me. I haven't had an album out in some time and I'm especially proud of this one. It's my first album on my own label and I was able to do the songs I want to do just as I want to do them. I'm happy to have the chance to share my excitement with GAC's audience as 'Artist of the Month'.
