"Melvin Anderson Ely" is an American professional basketball player who last played for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

A 6'10", , Power forward (basketball)/forward-center (basketball)/center from California State University, Fresno/Fresno State, Ely was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round (12th overall pick) of the 2002 NBA Draft.
