There is probably no one venue in the community, besides the Rock Cats, that draws the people that the museum does to the city of New Britain. Too often we have a lot of negatives tied to our community, and this is a huge positive.

This is a special day, not only for Bill, but for the city. This is an amazing show of support, and I have to tell you that I received more phone calls during this process than for any other in my career as mayor. I?m proud to be furthering the career..f a native son.

Things are good and getting better. Our streets are safer, our schools are in great shape, essential city services have been preserved, our public is more informed and our grand list is growing. These are the issues that really matter to the general public.

I'd like to see a renewed focus on our neighborhoods, not only our neighborhoods but on our downtown area. To me, we have to have a clean environment downtown so our businesses can thrive.

I think they are two shining stars in the department and I'm pleased they both got to this level.

It is idiotic to prohibit people from participating in government. You are taking a population of our city and telling them that they can't serve to help our city. There is no good rationale behind it. I don't understand it.

Bill's a very committed resident of the city. I know Bill's going to do a wonderful job of leading the department forward.

After lengthy and cordial negotiations, we have reached an agreement that will keep the Rock Cats in New Britain for a very long time. We take pride in our stadium and in the Rock Cats organization, which has been a great partner for our community.

It is remarkable for them to get below spending. That normally doesn't happen. Much credit to the board and their hard work. Now it is my turn to take a whack at it. We have some creative things we are going to do to try to get it down even further.
