"Maurice Lionel Newman" Companion of the Order of Australia/AC until March 2012 was the Chair (official)/Chairperson of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, as well as former chair of the board of the Australian Stock Exchange. He was Chancellor of Macquarie University until 2008. On 31 March 2012, he stood down as Chair of the ABC and was succeeded by James Spigelman . Currently, Newman is the chairman of the Prime Minister's Business Advisory Council.
