The 3-point shot has been one of the greatest things we've done for the game. The first year it was a state adopted rule. The next year because of overwhelming success, people were pleased with the rule and it became the norm.

This is an emotional topic.

The games are different. We play a game where the pitch is moving upward. With the ball movement, the ball comes off the bat a lot different.

That's the only way I see it passing. Because of budget restraints and programs being cut, I do not see it gaining momentum as a national playing rule and a required rule.

This is my seventh year, and it's not going away and is something we continue to look at. People ask me if it's going to pass, and I have no clue.
