Certainly Mr. Crawford is not covering up for a drug dealer.

Mr. Guardia had an invitation to the White House. He went to the (presidential) inauguration. Every indication was that he was a reputable, upstanding person.

There is a great deal of history behind the allegations in the indictment. When all the facts are heard in court, we expect Mr. Crawford will be vindicated.

The allegations that came out that were made in Mexico from the former attorney general that Mr. Guardia was involved in drug dealing. Those were investigated in Mexico and were officially found to be unfounded.

Mr. Guardia was a good friend of Mr. Crawford, yes. And he believed Mr. Guardia to be a fine, upstanding person.

It was a sad day in court, but it's been hanging over his head for 2 and a half years, and I'm glad to go to court and defend him.

The trips mentioned in the indictment were business travel and were not gifts.
