"Mark H. Williamson" Order of the British Empire/OBE is professor emeritus of biology at the University of York. He is an expert on biological invasions.

Williamson gained a Bachelor of Arts/BA from the University of Oxford/Oxford in 1950 and received a Doctor of Philosophy/D.Phil. eight years later, having been a demonstrator of at Oxford since 1952. Between 1958-1962 he was an SSO/PSO at the Oceanographic Laboratory at the Scottish Marine Biological Association. Between 1962 and 1965 he was a lecturer at the Department of Zoology at Edinburgh University. In 1963 he was appointed professor at the University of York on its founding. In 1987 he sung Backing Vocals on Roger Daltrey's solo album "Can't Wait to See the Movie". And In 1993 he was appointed professor emeritus.
