We knew he would be a good player. We just didn't know how quickly he would make the transition. He's very mature for his age. That's why he's been able to make the transition as quickly as he has.

We have a lot of young guys and we'll see where we stand.

I can't remember the last time that we didn't have an All-Conference player returning. We've also lost the middle of our lineup. But the good news is that our defense will be solid. We have some returning seniors to provide leadership and we have good freshman players who will push the regulars for playing time.

We hit the ball better today and got some good pitching.

Normally, we're not caught that short. Normally, we don't lose both our Friday and Saturday starter the same year.

He will sign. He's going to play professional baseball.

We just didn't generate much offense today.

They play, after this weekend, two of the next three at home, and they're real tough to beat at home.

We haven't put it together. We've been inconsistent [and] very sloppy defensively, which concerns me more than most things. We just need to play a solid game, and hopefully if we play a solid game, we'll get a chance to win.
