She was emotional. Just looking at the dogs was bringing back the memory of the attack.

She has since wondered if one of the other dogs was the one that actually bit her. It's always important to have the animal that has bitten someone. We're working on a time table that's critical.

She is an example of what we see everyday in southwest Florida, animals abandoned and neglected.

We're unable to do a lot of things without help from the public.

That saves us money in the long run by reducing the pet population and reducing expenses.

We exceeded our goal. More importantly, it created a lot of awareness for animal services and the reading festival.

That was a big red flag for us; we need to work with organizers on it next year.

We had no idea so many people would actually go out on a reef. People need to be educated that they're stepping on living creatures.

At one point we counted 300 people standing on the reef. It didn't occur to us people would stand on the reef.
