Severing diplomatic relations is an extreme choice and the Mexican government does not intend to do so for now.

In March we will have a meeting here of the bilateral economic committee, where we can talk about ... starting a strategy for considering a free trade agreement.

It is important to send an immediate message to the entire world, and to Mexico, so that it is quite clear to everybody that nobody is covering up anything and that what we have here is an unfortunate accident.

We think that it will be around January or February maybe.

It's a law that looks underhanded to everybody ... stupid.

Mexico is not going to bear, it is not going to permit, and it will not allow a stupid thing like this wall.

With pleasure, Mexican consulates will be able to house an official from another government so that it can provide adequate defense (to its citizens), in the proper setting, given that we have that ability that does not necessarily correspond to the capability of all the other countries.

We would like to be as conservative as possible in terms of the revenue side in the next budget and have a target of about 0.5 percentage of GDP (gross domestic product) as public-sector deficit for the year 2001.
