Parents are the workers at the carnival. It takes over 400 people to do it - that's an amazing number. We sure want them all to know that it's very much appreciated.

I can tell that the boy I help is getting better. He is more comfortable and I push him with harder books to better himself. In the beginning he would not look at me and then we started talking about the dogs and he opened up. When we got finished with the first session, he said he wanted to come back again.

The carnival is a good money raiser, but more importantly it's a good night of family fun. It's pretty easy to measure the bottom line. But when families come out and have such a good time together, you just can't measure that.

The carnival is a kid-friendly environment. There will be games available for all ages.

The kids also develop a bound with the dog and they really look forward to come back on Wednesdays. A boy that I have helped for 14 months now can't wait to come read every week. For a kid that did not like to read, this is quite an accomplishment. This is great.

Businesses have been very generous in donating to our silent auction. They have donated many gift certificates and other items.

The high school will work nicely for the carnival, but we are looking very forward to getting to the elementary next year.

This is the biggest fund-raiser of the year for the elementary.
