Good reporting is one of our goals. The other is for hospitals to stop infecting people. The first line of defense is wash those hands, clean the stethoscope, clean the food tray, where you know bacteria are living.

That's pretty scary, isn't it?

Some of them are doing a better job than others at preventing infections. They all need to improve. Any hospital doing average or the same as everyone else, that's not good enough.

The hospitals often argue, 'Just let us do it. We'll do it voluntarily.' Well, they've had decades to do it.

MRSA is in every hospital in the United States, just lurking there.
