"Laura Wright" is an United States/American actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Cassie Layne Winslow on Guiding Light (1997–2005), and since 2005, her portrayal of Carly Corinthos on General Hospital; the latter garnered her the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2011.

Honestly, I did it for the opportunity. I love what I do, but I don't know if I was doing the character of Cassie justice anymore. When you start to feel like you want to be challenged in other areas, the light starts to dim a little.

Just being chosen for the final 160, I just looked at that as a huge accomplishment. I am kind of happy I didn't go further because now I can go back and know what I need to work on.

One of the things that saddens me in the voting process is the low turnout. One thing we have lost is that people take it for granted. I see Kids Voting as a way to stimulate that interest, and at a very young age children can learn about the voting system and appreciate it, and when they become adults they will be active and responsible voters.

I've got big shoes to fill. Sarah Brown was awesome. I loved watching her play the role. Tamara Braun brought amazing emotion and sensitivity to the role. I think she really did a great job. She was a little tougher than Sarah, but soft, too. I'm hoping to be somewhere down the middle.
