It's through actions of peace that peace is spread.

I laughed at it, but the sentence kind of stuck in my head. It's a pretty crazy thought. People just don't pick up and move to Nepal.

Some people believe that the mountain of fear, distrust and intolerance that is often based on race and religion can't be overcome. Our Everest Climb for Peace will provide the world with inspirational stories, pictures and video which portray courage, friendship and teamwork under some of the most extreme conditions. We'll show the mountain can be conquered, and we'll climb it together.

The only walls and barriers that were present were the ones that they both climbed together.

At advanced base camp, we'll be breathing only half the oxygen we're used to at sea level. By the time we reach the summit, we'll be climbing, sleeping and eating at heights that only jet liners cruise.

That's when it all became real.

Climbing Everest is not cheap. It's been an uphill battle. But, for an Everest climb that is appropriate.

There is so much intolerance and so many people are dying because of race, religion and culture. People see difference before they see the humanity in others. I'm not so naive as to think my climb will change the world, but I think it can inspire people.

It was like my two passions came together on a mountaintop.
