We have to win now, because this one didn't help. I was really happy with her effort on the mound. The girls tried to battle back, but it was a real bummer of a day.

It was beautiful. She was totally dominant (in the circle). She didn't get a lot of strikeouts, but she hit her spots and kept them off-balance. They didn't hit the ball hard and the defense was solid behind her. I was very happy with our defense today.

I was really happy that the girls didn't quit (when they got down). Our pitcher got lit up and lit up hard. Our kids could have very easily put their heads down and quit, but they didn't. Our kids executed very well.

I thought Melissa pitched well enough to keep us in the game. I was disappointed in how discouraged our girls became when the Hawks' victory seemed imminent. The game became too emotional for our side.

She shut us down, then Lauren Atwood got a rocket single off of her to start the third and it showed everyone that we could hit off of her. We've really been hitting the ball well. Her hit opened the game. She's really worked hard and she's contributing every time I put her in the game.

We're just playing real solid defensively right now. The kids are rotating really well in our bunt coverage and defensive coverage. Alyssa has really stepped it up, both at the plate and pitching.

We haven't played in 10 days. We've been inside a lot and practiced our hitting. Defensively, we're a better team than that. It was nice to get out. We were rusty.

I felt like we tried to give it away. We didn't play our best. I told the girls after the game that good teams win even when they don't play their best.

I think our girls were in awe of their pitcher.
