We find a kidney from a living donor tends to do better than a kidney from a cadaver donor, even if the cadaver is a perfect match.

They do testing throughout the whole evaluation process. The results that came back Monday before the scheduled transplant indicated that the match was not as good as they had first thought, so they canceled the transplant.
