The work is very exciting. In fact, we've remarked how much stronger the work is now than what it used to be.
Part of revitalizing downtown is supporting the arts and the artists, ... I would like to see downtown Richmond come back to life. Richmond is always on the verge . . . it's time to go beyond that.
The other 5 percent, we try to bring in designers who are really hot or items we think that people would love to see because they're fun.
One of the reasons we do this is to show people that even if you collect salt and pepper shakers or if you're an 8 year old collecting dogs, people do collect and we hope that they end up learning to collect artwork if they are not already doing such a thing. It makes them feel a part of the gallery.
I was the wrong person to work a jewelry booth, ... It was hard to sell work because I would always find reasons to get up and walk around.
