"Karan Singh" is a member of India's Upper House of Parliament, the Rajya Sabha. He is a senior member of the Indian National Congress Party who served successively as Sadr-i-Riyasat and Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Singh is the son of the last ruler of the erstwhile princely state of Kashmir and Jammu, Maharaja Hari Singh. In the 26th amendment to the Constitution of India promulgated in 1971, the Government of India abolished all official symbols of princely state/princely India, including titles, privileges, and remuneration (Privy Purse in India/privy purses). Singh received the Padma Vibhushan in 2005.

We do not want to interfere in the internal affairs of any other country but the situation in Nepal seems to be spinning out of control.

This shortage is not affecting major projects. Providence Stadium has more than 190 tons of cement in stock and the contractors have enough cement on order from their suppliers to complete the work that they are doing.

As far as I know, the hotel project at Providence, close to the stadium, has enough cement in supply at the site. The shortage is basically affecting the small man rather than big companies.

I wish for peace in Nepal and I am optimistic.

Our message is simply: that we should try and get out of the present downward spiral.

I feel this kind of incidents will certainly hit tourism in the state as tourists, especially foreigners take these matters very seriously.

Now the ball is squarely in the court of the king. I am hopeful that very shortly some sort of announcement will be made by him which will help considerably defuse the situation.

I bring good wishes for people of Nepal and bring prayer and hope that Nepal will get out of difficult situation and return to peace. I am always optimistic.
