"Joyce Walker " is an American women's basketball player who is most renowned for being the third woman to join the Harlem Globetrotters, following fellow LSU All American Jackie White.

Walker was a basketball star at James A. Garfield High School (Seattle)/Garfield High School in Seattle in the late 1970s. As a senior in 1980, she averaged over 35 points per game, and set still-existent Washington (U.S. state)/Washington State tournament records of 40 points, 17 field goals (twice), and 33 field goal attempts in a single game en route to a state championship, netting the still-existent single tournament records of 96 field goals attempted, 49 field goals made, 114 points scored, and 38 average points per game as well. When combined with her performance in the 1977 tournament she set the still-existent record career tournament average of 26.8 points per game. Her dominance landed her a place in the National High School Hall of Fame and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Hall of Fame. She is considered by many to be the best female basketball player from Washington.

But they don't care which one it is, and that's what makes this team dangerous.

This kid was extremely hungry. I was pretty amazed no one knew about her. She made a commitment every day to show up and work hard. ... She was just waiting to take it to the next level.

She's absolutely the smartest player I've had the privilege to coach. You almost don't notice what she does until you look at the stats at the end of the game. She is what has made us the king we have become.

I don't think it was about overlooking this team; I just think we have some things we've got to continue to get better at. Our mental capacity at the onset of the game, I'm concerned about.

Our kids have to deal with the neighborhood thing - Westside and all. We had our turn last year.

That's a tough team. They just whipped us, let's just call it what it is.

She can play the 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 [position] for us.

That's the monster game right there.

I'm just happy for my babies.
