The victim apparently removed a packet of the heroin-cocaine mixture that the defendant had placed in the same pocket that contained the candy.

As much as this disturbs me, it disturbs me even more that other kids living in this home had access to even more drugs, ... It's just sick that he allowed this to happen. It's sheer stupidity.

I don't see any reason why he would purposely do this to this child, ... I can tell you that when I last saw him at 5 a.m. [Sunday], the child was doing well. He was talking and had regained consciousness. Doctors described his recovery as miraculous.

We have no way of knowing how much drugs he consumed, just that he did. En route back, the victim got sick. He [Medina] noticed the boy was having difficulty functioning, so he picked him up and carried him. Then the victim lost consciousness and possibly had a seizure.

We'll need the governor to lead the charge.
