I am proud to accept the endorsement of the California Professional Firefighters - not just one of California's most respected organizations, but one that represents tens of thousands of California's bravest men and women.

The use it and lose it problem is pervasive, affecting more than 40,000 Californians a year.

Tens of thousands of San Diegans drive every day without insurance. Not because they want to break the law but because they can't afford auto insurance.

This is money out of the pocket of every employer and worker in the state. That is unconscionable.

Our goal is to spread the risk out as far as possible across the nation. It's clearly not a partisan issue.

It is a market leader. It has chosen to keep its rates high, ... Until they reduce their rates, the rest of the industry is not going to jump in.

The California Professional Firefighters proved again in last year's Special Election, when they get involved in an election, they win. The firefighters work hard, and perhaps most importantly their judgment on important issues commands the trust of their neighbors, friends and families. The CPF endorsement is a big boost to our effort and a great way to start the election year.

We do have a very dramatic, unheard-of reduction in the cost of claims. It is unprecedented, ... The industry is continuing to pocket a large share of the cost savings.
