The room was too warm, with the sort of cat-barf-beige carpet that has been standard for meeting rooms for a millennium because it hides coffee stains.

That's what keeps me coming back. I can't say I want it as much as the players, because I'm not one of them. But we [front office employees] want to be a winning team. We want to be a contender. We want to get back to the World Series.

Trading for the first four months of the new year has continued to be good and well ahead of the same period last year.

Everyone at Panther Racing feels like it's only fitting that we support our country during this time of tragedy. Back in 2001 we made a donation and put an American flag on the engine cover after the tragedy on 9/11. So we feel a $10,000 donation and bringing awareness to the American Red Cross is the least we can do, and hopefully people in Chicago and watching the race on ABC will do the same.

It's not my news to release. But I heard about it yesterday.

It would be huge to get that monkey off our backs.

I can remember back to 1982, and we were basically working 24/7 from July 4 to the end of the World Series, ... After the Series, I was totally spent. Someone asked me, 'Did you have any time to enjoy it?' And I said, 'Well, I'll enjoy the next one.'

He wants to stay, so we're going to start talking in the middle of (next) month. We want to keep both of our guys.

The company is making good progress and we remain excited about the future.
