The kids played hard and we made some plays and they hit the ball hard at us. They murdered the ball and we made the plays. We feel good about getting the first win of the year.

The seniors have really taken over in a leadership role and brought the younger kids along. They've done quite a job just keeping practices in a positive direction. Their experience is vital.

I'm encouraged. After we passed the word and made the announcements, we have plenty of interest. These players have done everything we've asked them to do. I've enjoyed being around them. It's therapy for me. I think it's going to be an enjoyable season.

The kids are coming together under a new system and playing very well. They're playing as hard as they possibly can and as well as they possibly can. We can improve and if they work hard on defensive scheme, we should get even better.
