I wouldn't have wanted to come here unless we were definitely pushing for a European spot. I think we're definitely capable of that, given the squad we've got.

If they don't play they can always ask if they can go on loan and come back as better players. If it is difficult at our club maybe it is better to go on loan.

It's about getting to know new team-mates. The more we get to know each other's game, the better we will become.

In midfield we have too many players.

I was up there for four years and had a good time, but I had hit a bit of a ceiling.

I thought Michael was brilliant. He basically made us tick and that allows me to do pretty much whatever I want, to bomb on as much as I want and try to create things further up the pitch.

I think there's still a way to go as the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are still quite far ahead. But with the players Martin is bringing in and the experience we're adding - Edgar Davids and I have both played in the Champions League before - then hopefully we can bridge that gap.

Bring on Arsenal, that's what I say.
