This marks the first real significant meet for us this season. There's big competition. It's always been low-key local stuff. This is really our first big weekend to showcase our talent.

We came to a big meet and acted like we deserved to be here. We were put into some real good heats, and all of a sudden, we were in the fast races with some really good teams with really good traditions of track and field. Just to compete and hold our own was great.

It didn't seem anybody was on their game. So coming in I was really thinking positive about that because I knew that a lot of people had sort of opened the door, ... Throws had solid performances. The way everyone performed this weekend is a really good indication that they will accept nothing less than big performances.

The Texas relays is one of the premier meets in the country-we've got a small squad here, 25 athletes-our elite group.

She's a great competitor. She's definitely looking to win everything she goes in. She's not content to just be there and go to the race.

We have freshmen who have made a huge impact right away. The younger kids are just starting to tap into their talent.
