"Jenni Williams" (born 1962) is a Zimbabwean human rights activist and founder of Women of Zimbabwe Arise (Woza). A prominent critic of President Robert Mugabe's government, The Guardian described her in 2009 as "one of the most troublesome thorns in Mugabe's side".

We were marching to say we want more than day to day survival.

WOZA was started to give Zimbabwean women a voice and platform with which to exercise their rights. At this time in Zimbabwe, where things are very tough economically, socially, politically… we felt that women were bearing the brunt of that crisis and should have the loudest voice in shouting out … and holding the political leaders accountable for what they've unleashed.

We're expecting 120 people to be brought to court this afternoon.

To coincide with Valentine's Day we were making a statement demanding roses and the dignity they stand for and bread in the form of affordable food for everyone.
