Losing is hard, and they are kids. As we get older, we have a different perspective about these things. Sometimes in the moment, the match seems more significant and important than it really is.

It's perfect preparation for next week to have a tough match on Friday. The whole match was about being observant and trying to start putting together a game plan.

We lived up to our seeds (Monday), at least. We just don't have a lot of depth.

Our top three players thrive on pressure. They believe they can do it, even if they're playing poorly. It's just a matter of will.

When they get into that mode, when they believe they can, they can.

I don't know if that's actually the case, but it makes her feel better to say that. At least she still has a purpose. She didn't beat herself up about it and have it affect her in the doubles. She moved beyond it.

They are pretty tough kids. They don't come from backgrounds where they've had life given to them. And they've always been willing to rise up to the challenge.
