FameRank: 6

"John Scott "Jack" Morris" is an United States/American former Major League Baseball starting pitcher, and played between 1977 in baseball/1977 and 1994 in baseball/1994, mainly for the Detroit Tigers, winning 254 games throughout his career. Armed with a fastball, a slider, and a forkball, Morris was a five-time Major League Baseball All-Star Game/All-Star (1981 in baseball/1981, 1984 in baseball/1984, 1985 in baseball/1985, 1987 in baseball/1987, and 1991 in baseball/1991), and played on four World Series Championship teams (1984 Tigers, 1991 Twins, and 1992–1993 Blue Jays). While he gave up the most hits, most earned runs, and most home runs of any pitcher in the 1980s, he also started the most games, pitched the most innings, and had the most wins of any pitcher in that decade.

Morris is currently a pre-game color analyst and substitute game analyst for Minnesota Twins telecasts on Fox Sports North. He has also recently been an analyst for MLB broadcasts on Fox Sports One.

If we tag a shark out here and it shows up in the Florida Straits, that's pretty cool.

Our alliance with the community was the key to the last year's success. The arts center is a wonderful investment and the relationship we have with the community will help enhance our quality of life.

Cheating is cheating. Enforce the rules or don't have them. It's up to (Selig), I guess. He's getting a lot of pressure from the senators.

What's going to happen from this? I don't know. I supposed they could pull a Pete Rose.

I sure wouldn't want to have to do that.

I know there's a lot of people who publicly don't want to say this right now. But I think they're hoping that the momentum this occasion brings, and the way it brings the community together, will help extend this to the next step that they all want, which is a new stadium and baseball for a long time.

I just can't imagine what it would be like here without baseball. I don't even want to think about it. ... I just hope that the last few years - you know, three out of four they were in the playoff hunt - that everybody forgets about that contraction stuff and that some way, somehow, there will be baseball in Minnesota.

I'm one of the main guys to come across the middle, because I'm one of the bigger receivers. Now that he's here, he helps, because it's easier for me to come across too. It's a lot easier knowing I don't have to be the main person going across. It just makes us a complete team now, because we have the speed with Donnie (Gilbert) and Joe (Edouards) and us up the middle.

I think you know what I'd do.
