"Hugh Todd Naylor Gaitskell" Commander of the Order of the British Empire/CBE Privy Council of the United Kingdom/PC was a United Kingdom/British Labour Party (UK)/Labour politician who held UK Cabinet/Cabinet office in Clement Attlee's governments, and was the Leader of the Labour Party (UK)/Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition (United Kingdom)/Leader of the Opposition from 1955 until his death in 1963. He was responsible for introducing prescription charges on the National Health Service which caused Aneurin Bevan to resign from the Cabinet.
