A lot of things we're seeing right now are very familiar pieces, but they're done in a new fabric or color. It's about juxtaposition - denim with velvet. That makes it easy to get a lot of use out of it.

Black is best worn as an ensemble - black with black. Black with color is not quite where we are right now.

You need to create waist definition.

White is a trend unto itself. From very pure, stark white to ecru, you can look at white as an entire color family. White is the neutral of the season against which all other colors are paired.

We're really starting to see the strongest influences of the '80s in spring 2006.

The clean and wholesome side of the '80s we've already explored. Now we're going to the more rock-inspired, more decadent - that whole new-wave look.

The spring story is about evolving femininity, everything is subdued, understated. It's more about the line and shape of clothing. Interesting textures. Going back to classics.

I wouldn't do wood alone. But take some of those wood bangles, especially in darker colors, and mix them with gold.
