Some of the now older kids remember performing at the Convention Center in New Orleans, when they were the youngest ones on the trip. They've seen the recent television pictures of the refugees holed up at the Center, and the Aquarium (which they visited) that was destroyed by the hurricane. It's brought it all home for them and they've talked about it at some of our rehearsals.

We have a superb cast for Beauty and the Beast. It's a good mixture of adults, with at least one in his 80s, and children as young as age seven, representing a cross section of the community.

There is a very good chance it could be the last show. It's kind of bittersweet.

Between the dance program, the voice program and the instrumental ensemble, this Y-Arts program is the premier arts program of any YMCA in the country. That's not even taking into account the theater productions.
