Our job is to make sure that the public understands the consequences of these cuts so that the people who represent them can determine whether those cuts are acceptable. ... It's going to be fairly comprehensive, fairly aggressive statewide because the stakes are so high.

While you will hear, and the public will hear, a lot about institutional pains, these issues are not about institutions. They're about people that will have post-secondary education denied to them.

These cuts are just so huge that no one can do that and so most colleges will probably defer making those decisions until July.

There are a lot of people looking over our shoulder, both on the campuses and off the campuses, to make sure that is the case.
