He has galvanized Democratic voters against him. So, now the question is, with him gone, will those energized voters maintain that energy for the next seven months.

Texas has always had committee chairs -- strong and powerful committee chairs -- and to go to a position where you have none or very few, could well mean in the battle for earmarks, Texas has a harder fight at it.
