Some things work out and some don't. In this case, another opportunity presented itself.

There are a handful of citizens who want to delay the decision until Mr. George comes back. But that would mean we won't be able to apply for Issue 2 money for Taylor Road in 2006 and, in my opinion, would delay the project by another 18 to 25 months.

I don't know about that one, but I know we're in the running for Taylor Road.

We've been trying to find a solution to all of this for the last two years. We know Palmer Road is a problem, too.

I don't believe in going for a little bit and coming back in two or three years for more. I want this to be a good source of revenue for our traffic needs and after five years, the voters can decide whether to renew it or replace it.

That's good news. That tax money will be flowing into the county.

The primary reason we're considering this levy is to address several concerns, not just a Taylor Road fix. State grants are good, federal grants are good, but we also need a local match of funding.

That business going in there will not work. I feel strongly that I have a duty to protect the quality of life of our residents.
