We've been involved with the United Way off and on over the years, and this year there was just an unprecedented amount of community support.

We had opportunities to score we just didn't play the way we are capable of playing. Luck hasn't been on our side this year but we are definitely better than last year. We just need to get a little lucky.

Every festival is new, and everyone has gotten better. We've been able to do a better job of connecting students with wonderful authors from all over.

We're trying to get kids to look at writing and what that creative writer has to do. We want to get kids to be more creative and writing to that purpose, whether it's non-fiction or a fiction piece.
